| Popping Popping and Boogaloo were created by Boogaloo Sam in the 70s. ‘Popping' is usually mistaken as an umbrella term for other styles which are often mixed in with popping and boogaloo such as; tutting, strobing, waving etc.
Popping involves flexing the muscles on beat to give a ‘snap' or ‘pop' effect.
Boogaloo is a fluid, wavy style that uses the whole body |
Sidalicious (Liquid Xpress crew)

Locking
One of the most fun and funky dance styles to date! Locking is an improvisational style that emphasises character and flavour.
The style incorporates sharp locked poses, and other funky movements such as; Scooby Doo, Funky Air Guitar and Which-a-Way |

All classes start with a stretch and warm up of the body. Students will then learn and drill techniques from the foundations of the dance style and proceed to learn a choreographed routine.
Groove will also be having guest workshops and
classes taught by some of Melbourne's most successful
and professional dancers. Be sure to check back
often to see when these one-off classes occur!
