Battle City Dance Contest Results

(Update 1: 7th May)

Hip Hop Competition
About 10 people were entered into this competition. After two rounds of dancing, three people made it through to the finals; Steve (Liquid Xpress), Lenny, and Groove Dance's very own Geoff (TPC / Groove).
Three more rounds saw Geoff emerge the winner to take home the prize of $300 cash plus a double pass to see "Break!"

Bboy Competition
Approximately 12 crews were registered with only 8 making it through the prelims for the elimination stage.
The finals saw Fresh Sox (Mousa and Lama) v Rinsed Carnage (Simon and Keith) battle it out in three rounds.
Simon won 'best bboy' but Fresh Sox were overall winners taking home the cheque of $1200 plus goodies!

Battle City Details

(30th April)

NO-ONE should miss this competition next Saturday May 6th at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. There will be a 10am start for preliminaries, with the main event starting at 11am. The larger prize pool has resulted in entries from some of Melbourne's best dancers so be sure not to miss this! Free Entry for All!

2 on 2 BBoy/Bgirl Battle - 1st prize $1200

There will be preliminaries at 10am to decide which 8 crews will qualify for the competition. Bboys will have one round each to show their stuff to the judges in the preliminaries.

The competition format is 2-on-2, 2 rounds each judged on a round-by-round basis.

Hiphop Solo Dance Comp - 1st Prize $300

Guest Judges:
Alvin (Beatphonik)
Bgirl Demilition (The Movement Crew)
Vince (Rewind)

Each participant will get 2 freestyles each.
Everyone will dance to the same track for their first solo and then a 2nd track for their second solo.
The judges will then determine who they thought was the best soloist.
Solos should be approximately 30seconds - 1minute each.
It is possible that a tie-breaker to decide the winner will be required, where the top 3 or so dancers will need to do another round.
